27 year old Marshae Jones who’s fetus died after she was shot in a fight , has now been charged with manslaughter.
Jones was indicted by the Jefferson County grand jury Wednesday. She was only 5 months pregnant when she got in an altercation with 23 year old Ebony Jemison in December, over her fetus’s father. Jemison shot Jones in the stomach during this altercation.
Jemison was initially charged with manslaughter but the same grand jury didn’t indict her after police further investigated the altercation . They found out that Jones started the fight and that Jemison was just defending herself.
This is truly a sad case, an innocent baby was lost during a situation that could’ve easily been avoided. I don’t agree with the way this case had been ruled, the shooter should face consequences because out of all places why shoot this pregnant woman in her stomach over a man. That’s not self defense if you ask me.
