Authorities have arrested 58-year-old Mark Adams Prieto from Arizona after uncovering his plan to shoot and potentially kill African Americans and other minorities at a concert in Atlanta’s State Farm Arena. Prieto faces charges of firearms trafficking, transfer of a firearm for use in a hate crime, and possession of an unregistered firearm.
According to a report by Fox5, the investigation revealed that Prieto had been discussing the planned mass shooting with two individuals who were covertly working with the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI). The intended attack was scheduled for May at the Atlanta venue, where popular artist Bad Bunny was performing.
Prieto reportedly believed that targeting a “rap” concert would result in the highest concentration of African American attendees. His conversations with the undercover agents detailed his intentions and preparations for the attack.
