August Alsina Hospitalized After Losing The Ability To Walk

Story Via Xxl- August Alsina is opening up about his latest medical episode that caused him to cancel a show.

On Monday afternoon (July 8), the 2014 XXLFreshman hit up his 6.2 million Instagram followers to provide an explanation for missing his scheduled set at an event for the 2019 Essence Festival in New Orleans, La. The 26-year-old artist posted a video of himself explaining what he's been going through lately while laying in a hospital bed.

"So here's the stitch," Alsina began. "I woke up one day and wasn't able to walk. Couldn't feel my legs. My doctor ended up admitting me to the hospital to do a bunch of tests and he said that I have some nerve damage going on throughout my whole body that I have to undergo a recovery process for. I don't know it's like my immunity system just went on vacation. So just waiting on it to come on back so we can get together and make it do what it do man."

August has been dealing with health problems for quite some time. After receiving eye surgery in 2015, the singer-activist told Jada Pinkett-Smith back in 2017 that he's "sick all the time" due to liver disease.

"I have a liver disease where my autoimmune system is fighting against itself," Alsina said. "The reality of it is, I'm sick all the time. I don't really like to talk about it because I'm not looking for anybody's sympathy. Don't treat me like I'm a fucking cancer patient, 'cause I'm not."

Seventeen-year-old 17-year-old Elijah Al-Amin was stabbed to death for listening to rap music, police say.

According to Fox's local Phoenix, Ariz. affiliate, local authorities the incident took place in a suburb outside of Phoenix on Thursday (July 4). Witnesses told police that 27-year-old Michael Adams just walked up to Al-Amin in front of a store, slit his throat and then walked away.

Adams reportedly admitted to police that he felt provoked because the victim was listening to rap music and he'd previously been attacked by other people listening to rap music. He also admitted that the victim didn't do or say anything to him, but that he felt he needed to prevent an attack before it happened.

According to Adams' lawyer, he suffers from a mental illness and was recently released from prison for an unrelated but similar crime with no medication.

"They released him to the streets with no medication, no meds, with no way to care for himself," Jacie Cotterell, Adams' lawyer, reportedly said in court. "This is a failing of the Department of Corrections. This is easily foreseeable and that is an issue."

Adams is being held on suspicion of first-degree premeditated murder with bond set at $1 million.
