Illinois Becomes The 11th State In US To Legalize Marijuana

Story Via Fox News - Illinois on Tuesday became the 11th state in the U.S. to legalize marijuana for recreational use after Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed a bill that permits residents to purchase and possess up to one ounce of cannabis at a time and non-residents up to 15 grams.

The move, which fulfills one of Pritzker’s campaign promises, also implements the nation’s first comprehensive statewide cannabis marketplace designed by legislators. It also means that nearly 800,000 people with criminal records for purchasing or possessing 30 grams of marijuana or less may have those records expunged.

The law provides for cannabis purchases by adults 21 and older at approved dispensaries, which, after they are licensed and established, may start selling Jan. 1, 2020. That means possession remains a crime until then, a spokesman for Senate Democrats said.

Judge orders NBA Youngboy to serve some jail time, remain on house arrest

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Baton Rouge rapper NBA Youngboy, who has been in jail since May, will serve another two months before he is placed on house arrest for the remainder of his probation.

Judge Bonnie Jackson issued the ruling on Friday, June 21. The rapper, whose real name is Kentrell Gaulden, was ordered to serve 90 days in jail, but was given credit for time served. He has roughly two months time remaining. Once released, he will be placed on house arrest for roughly 14 months.

Due to the ruling, Gaulden will not be allowed to perform. He will be required to wear a GPS monitor during his time on house arrest.

Gaulden was on probation for the 2016 shooting case for which he pleaded guilty. The plea deal sentenced Gaulden to three years of probation with a suspended 10-year prison sentence. One of the conditions of his probation was that he remain free of additional arrests and convictions.

Prosecutors have filed a third motion asking to revoke local rapper "NBA Youngboy" probation ahead of his hearing which is happening right now.

BATON ROUGE - Prosecutors have filed a third motion asking to revoke local rapper Kentrell "NBA Youngboy" Gaulden's probation ahead of his hearing Friday.

The East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney's Office says Gaulden violated his three-year probation by possessing a firearm and using social media.

Gaulden was found with a firearm in Miami, Florida on May 12 after a deadly shootout involving his entourage. A bystander was killed during that shootout. He has been in custody in Baton Rouge since May 17, when Judge Bonnie Jackson said she suspected that a video from the Miami homicide scene that was posted on social media showed Gaulden "talking trash and smack."
