In a startling turn of events, a police officer in Columbus, Mississippi, found herself on the wrong side of the law after allegedly shoplifting sneakers while on duty and in uniform. The now-fired officer, identified as Robin Conner, 33, was apprehended by her own colleagues and taken into custody in her patrol car.

The incident unfolded at a Dick’s Sporting Goods store, where an employee noticed Officer Conner walking out with a $140 pair of tennis shoes without making a purchase. Upon confronting her, the store employee detained Conner and promptly called 911.

Dispatchers, upon learning of the officer's involvement, contacted a supervisor at Conner's precinct.
