DJ Akademiks Faces Lawsuit for Rape, Sexual Assault, and Defamation
DJ Akademiks, born Livingston Allen, is facing a new lawsuit accusing him of rape, sexual assault, and defamation. The lawsuit was filed by Fauziya "Ziya" Abashe, who dated the internet personality after meeting him online in 2021, according to Rolling Stone.
Abashe alleges that on July 16, 2022, Allen contacted her and invited her to his house in New Jersey after almost a year of no contact.
Upon her arrival, Abashe was met by two men she did not anticipate. She claims that these men drugged her drink and plied her with alcohol before assaulting and raping her on Allen's pool deck. The lawsuit states that the drugs "impacted her memory and caused her to lose consciousness."
Following the incident, Abashe claims she was woken up around 4 a.m. the next day in a bedroom by Allen, who was "pulling her hair, prying open her legs, and brutally raping her." She accuses Allen of penetrating her anally and vaginally, stating she was "begging" him to stop and "crying & nost of this assault butlosing her ability to move physically."
When Abashe asked Allen for details about what had happened the previous night, he allegedly showed her a trash can containing two condom wrappers, implying that after the initial pool-deck assault, the two men had
"taken her into another room in the house and continued to rape her brutally." Additionally, Abashe claims Allen showed her surveillance footage of the alleged pool-deck attack.
Abashe is represented by lawyer Tyrone Blackburn. The lawsuit's serious allegations highlight the ongoing issue of sexual violence and the legal battles faced by public figures.
As this case unfolds, it underscores the importance of supporting survivors of sexual assault and ensuring they have the resources and legal avenues to seek justice. The public and legal response to these allegations will be crucial in addressing and combating such serious accusations.
